Finally I got all the little bits for the center of Allietare sewn together and this is the result.
Everything went together well except the final rows. I did end up having to twist some of the seams on the four patches to get them to nest together. Considering how many seams there are in this quilt I can’t complain and Bonnie did say all of the seams would not nest.
As hard as I tried I still missed matching some of the points exactly but hey I don’t care.
I really like the colors she chose for this years Mystery Quilt and I suppose that’s why I decided to make it. Bonnie’s quilts are alway different and special but they are also very labor intensive and the mystery is at a very busy time of the year for me. So I hope if I ever decide to make another one someone will remind me of this.
The borders are going to be scalloped and I will have to purchase fabric for them because I don’t have a piece of black large enough.
It is doing to be a beautiful quilt and if you want the pattern it’s still on Quiltville here for you to download.
Happy stitching,
Nancy
Just beautiful, Nancy! I love this one.
ReplyDeleteI don't need anyone to remind me that I can't do a Bonnie mystery during the holidays. I've never even tried. I can't even seem to get them finished when I start after the reveal. *LOL*
What a beautiful quilt Nancy! I think this is my favorite of Bonnie's from recent years. I've only ever attempted one of her mysteries, and it's still sitting in pieces in my studio - sigh! Congrats on a great finish!
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a very beautiful quilt and looks labor intensive--you now have a treasured heirloom
ReplyDeleteYour quilt turned out great and makes me want to continue on mine!! Great job!
ReplyDeleteLooks very nice. A lot of sewing in a short time to make this quilt top. I did not participate. I have never done one of Bonnie's mystery quilts.
ReplyDeleteStunning, Nancy and all those pieces - WOW!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! I like the scalloped border idea. I'd love to do one of her mysteries but yeah - Christmas time is a little busy! I'm impressed you have your top together already :0)
ReplyDeleteYour interpretation of the mystery quilt is gorgeous. When you add the scalloped border it will be a wonderful finish. Everyone who has worked on this during the holidays should really be commended. Great job!
ReplyDeleteWhat a show-stopping quilt - I can't believe all of those little pieces!! Beautiful job!!!
ReplyDeleteA very striking quilt!! Your addition of the scalloped border will be icing on the cake - always such a great way to complete a top!
ReplyDeleteWow, Nancy, this is just simply gorgeous!! Can't wait to see the border on it and all quilted up!! Fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Very striking. You did a great job, it has great impact.
ReplyDeleteYour finish is great, love the colours. I've done a few of Bonnie's mysteries but I make them as small quilts. I chose my own colours one year and I'm not too pleased with the result, but the others have been good fun. Didn't do it this time, the holiday timing doesn't work for me either.
ReplyDeleteNancy fantástico!!!
ReplyDeleteun trabajo intenso y colores muy acertados
buen domingo
Fabulous quilt top It is so lovely! Kudos to you!
ReplyDeleteyour quilt looks wonderful and if there are any seams not matching in it like you say - well there are so many seams I don't see how anyone would find the ones that don't match! well done!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Nancy, on your finish! It's gorgeous!!! Love your version. Great job!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Nancy, you have a very clean, crisp version here! And on time! I am still sewing mine. And I agree, it was the colours that drew me in this year too. Great job!
