2011 Christmas Quilt Show

Christmas is just around the corner and it's time for  SewCalGal's  2011 Christmas Quilt Show.
Stop by and see all the wonderful Christmas quilts.  It's not too late to enter one yourself.  There are lots of wonderful prizes to be given away.

My entry is Comfort and Joy a pattern designed by Pat Wys.
It was a block of the month quilt at Sweet Home Quilt Company.
Merry Christmas everyone

Whew!

The last couple of months have been----well let's just say different. Lot's of family matters to take care of. Things are getting back to normal again and it's nice to have a little time to spend on the blog. I missed posting and reading your comments.

There hasn't been much quilting going on but I was able to do a little Internet shopping. I found these three great books on Amazon.

I just love to get new books even if it's only to look at the pictures and dream.

I also found a moment here and there to work on the borders of Comfort and Joy my Christmas quilt.

I have gotten a little behind on Beyond the Cherry Trees.

The patterns for one of the borders and block 24 are out, but that's just fine.
I have to keep telling myself---- it is not a race after all.

Now all I need is a little piecing time at the machine.  I have been having withdrawal systems.
I know you understand.

Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome!

I will have to admit my house has gotten so bad I don't even want to live in it.  All I have wanted to do lately is sew hence the dust and dirt has piled up.  Now I never wanted to be known as the lady whose obituary said she was known for the cleanest house but this is ridiculous.   So the last few days have been spent cleaning showers, floors, windows and all the other things that don't have anything to do with quilting.

Now back to what I enjoy.
I have been participating in the BOM Comfort & Joy at Sweet Home Quilt Company my local quilt shop because I really needed another applique' project.

The first two months were just piecing -  nine patch, flying geese,

churn dash, log cabin and half sq. triangle blocks ...with one little sq. in a sq. block.

Month three was this little applique house and this month we made a snowman and a flag.

I think this is going to be a sweet little Christmas quilt when finished.
