The Months Just Roll Along.

I am always amazed at how fast time is moving in my life.  Why just yesterday it was May and I was at a retreat with some of my most special quilting friends.

We did a lot of sewing and I managed to finish a couple of kits I have had stored away for several years.  The first is a small 45”x45" table topper or wall hanging.  Very Patriotic.  This was a kit I bought on sale from Connecting Threads.

Winterlude is a table runner I made from a free Moda pattern using lots of my christmas fabric scraps.

Southern Hospitality was a kit "Little Quilts" in Atlanta sold back in 2004 when they were featured in Quilt Sampler magazine.

I have also started a new project The 1718 Coverlet.

My blocks so far.
They are somewhat brighter than in this picture.  The 1718 Coverlet  quilt has some very strange blocks and I am getting to try things I never thought I would.

Until the next time, Happy stitching.
Nancy

  1. Every project is a winner.
I, too, love the patriotic one (no surprise there). The little baskets are very sweet.
My goodness, that coverlet looks ambitious! Good for you to tackle it. : )

  5. The patriotic piece is a good one and so is the one with the small basket blocks. I like the scrappy look of the basket handles.

  6. You made some lovely finishes with these small quilts. And no surprise to me, that you have started the 1718 quilt, as you have the same taste as I have and it is only a matter of time (and finishing some ufo's...) that I will begin too. Your first blocks are looking great, and I love your fabric choice!!! By the way... love the new "header" from your blog too...

  7. Oh my, I like your new heading!! It looks as though it's showing all your beautiful appliqué quilts! Very nice! Your recent projects are so pretty also. Doesn't it feel great to get those smaller projects completed after sitting a while! Your 1718 coverlet is coming along very nicely, too. Interesting fabrics!

  9. You deserve the Golden Thimble Award for taking on the 1718 Coverlet!! Know yours will be spectacular and will enjoy watching your progress. Isn't it something how the days move forward so quickly - especially once summer arrives...always much too short in our neck of the woods.
Your header is super with your quilts placed on the hexies!!

I have been so tempted by the 1718 coverlet but have just too much on at the moment. I do just love your blocks though - wow! As you say - unusual blocks and a really unique quilt.
