Accuquilt Triangles in a Square and Half Square Triangles

My third quilt in the die challenge is made from the Accuquilt Triangle in a Square and Half Square Triangles dies.

First I cut all the pieces for the triangle in a square block.  I ran into some difficulty with this block not coming out to the right size but quickly found out I was not sewing it together correctly. The little nubbed corners are not stitching guide lines.   Once that was corrected everything went smoothly.

Here are all the little pieces that go into making up each block.  Each one should be 3 1/2 inches square.

These are the two blocks in the quilt.  Either block would make a lovely quilt.

But when combined they make a spectacular one.

I wanted to make this quilt a little larger but part of the challenge is to use only fabrics from my stash so I was limited in the size.
Happy stitching, Nancy

  2. Thanks for posting this on the yahoo group! Love the quilt you've done. Since you posted I checked my unused (yet) dies and discovered mine. Wahoo, you've inspired me.

  4. Oh Nancy! delicious quilt!

memo to self..... "get out the GO and MAKE SOMETHING!" Your quilts are so inspiring, I really MUST make something with the dies I have. I added to my collection at a recent craft show - bought the applique set with butterfly, bee and dragonfly.

  6. Nice use of your stash! I always love it when I can USE UP something and it doesn't require that I buy something else to finish it up!
BTW, Red Hen Fabrics in Marietta is no longer going to carry the Go cutter and they are selling everything they still have left at cost. If you are interested in any new dies give them a call and see if they have it. It's still a haul west for you to get there, but I thought you might want to know.
