Aunt Millie's Garden

I finally got the sashing and borders put on my Aunt Millie's quilt top. It seems like I have been working on this quilt forever. The quilt looks better than the pictures. I need photography work.

I am going to add it to my list of quilts waiting to be quilted as I have no idea how I will quilt it. I wonder have you ever spent years working on a quilt and when you were finished you couldn't decide if you liked it or not. That's how I feel about this one. Not too sure about the reds anymore.

  2. That is beautiful. I never thought about using red. I'm doing mine in a white background and am having trouble deciding on the sashing. I like your sashing. I like too that your blocks are in various shades of red. Really gives it depth. Absolutely beautiful.

  3. The applique on red is amazing. I love it. I'm using red at the pathway on some hexi's. Maybe you just need to give this quilt a rest before you do the next (quilting) segment on it. I think it's beautiful

  4. I agree - this quilt is absolutely fantastic! You should be so proud :) I've had my Aunt Millie's pattern for about a year and I'm terrified to begin!! Congratulations on your big finish.

  5. Oh Kathy - This quilt is exquisite!!! I would love to see it in person if you say it is better looking than the pictures. I agree with Sharon - give it a rest and when you come back to it, hopefully you will see the same gorgeous quilt we see!! And once it is quilted - Oh My!!! Kris

  6. It's beautiful! After years of work, I think it's sometimes hard to really see something as a whole, instead of as the process. But the red is lovely! I have wanted to make this quilt for awhile, so if you find you just can't like it, I promise I'd give it a very good home! ;)
