My Machine Died! I was just sewing along and all of a sudden the screen went blank and that was that. I hope it's not the motherboard but I think it might be.
Wonder how much this is going to cost?
Just thinking about the drive to the dealer in all that traffic makes me shudder.
So I dug out my trusty old Creative 1471she is over 30 years old and still sews like a dream. I do miss some of the features on my 2144 like how the presser foot raises and lowers every time you stop and start sewing but it's nice to have a backup machine. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't sew. Did you ever think about what you would do if you couldn't sew?

Not sewing!!! I shudder to even think about it. I would probably read....
ReplyDeleteDon't even ask us to imagine such a thing! !
ReplyDeleteLucky for you that your backup is an old faithful.
hugs,
Gerry
I'd just pick up a needle and thread and go "old school"....
ReplyDeleteYep, I have one of them too. When I bought mine they thru in a free serger. That died the other day. I am hoping it's not an omen and my machine has a few more years in it. Hope yours is not as serious as you are thinking, but fearing the worse.
ReplyDeleteI've had this exact conversation with one of my customers and we both shudder at the thought of that. Loosing your eyesight or the ability to use your hands, eek. I can't imagine it, and often wonder what people do who don't quilt, they must have very clean houses! Off to my studio, to heck with the dusting.
ReplyDeleteHey, Nancy - I too have more than one machine in the event one conks out on me!! But heaven forbid because my Husqvarna is my fav!!! And I agree with Sharon - my friend who is not a quilter has a very neat house!! Boring!! :-))) Back to sewing!! Kris
