Just Takes 2 First Quarter

I managed to get the first quarter of my Just Takes 2 together this weekend. The next set of blocks have come out and I see they are not getting any easier.
So I have now started collecting the patterns because trying to keep up is requiring too much time and there are other things I had rather be doing.  Another thought is to make this quarter of the quilt into a wall hanging and call it quits.  It is just the right size for a nice wall hanging don't you think.

Just Takes 2 - Much

Time that is.

Good Grief what are they thinking.  Maybe it's a test to see how many will stick it out until the end.
Well, I have decided they won't get rid of me.  My block may not be the best but it's finished.

Keeping Up, Catching Up and Cleaning Up

So far I have been able to keep up with my Farmers Wife Sow Along blocks.  Now known as the Barristers Block Sow Along.  If you are interested in why you can find out  here.

  Keeping up with those Just Takes Two blocks   keeps getting harder and harder. I have been thinking about stopping but I sure am learning a lot and I do have all that red and white fabric.

I am trying really hard to catch up with the Beyond the Cherry Tree quilt.  I have completed one border three more to go.

These borders are really long but I think quite pretty.

As far as cleaning up.  I got out my scrap basket and my GO cutter and one day I just cut squares. 2, 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 inch.  They take up a lot less space.

Just Takes Two & The Farmer's Wife

I caught up with my Just Takes Two blocks.
Is it just me or do the blocks seem to be getting harder and harder?

I also started working on The Farmers Wife.  Randy at Barrister's Block is doing a Sow-A-Long.
I have had this book for some time and just didn't want to take the time to figure out the measurements for each block.  Well, Randy is doing it for us.  She posts the directions for the blocks on the First and third Wendesdays of each month and even gives you all the rotary cutting measurements. She is doing six blocks a month and February was the first month.

Just Takes 2 Unit Two

Here are the blocks for unit two of Just Takes 2.   I decide to make my blocks the first day this time instead of putting it off until the last.  I sort of did a little shudder when I first saw them because of the house and the fan blocks.   I will say I am learning a lot of new techniques.

Just Takes 2 & Twelve Days of Christmas

 I finished my 12 Days of Christmas quilt last week.  I am just a little slow in posting the picture.  This was a fun little mystery hosted by Temecula Quilt Co.

Today I was able to get the first installment from Sentimental  Stitches of
 Just Takes 2 completed.  Just in time because I believe the next installment
from Dear Jane comes out tomorrow.  I was a little late with these because I had to wait on the USPO to bring my red fabric.
