Out of the Box & One More Finish!

My Snowball quilt is all quilted and bound.  I quilted it with a feather pantograph.

Now  I need to just stop joining all these challenges
and sew alongs because I have so many UFO's I need to get to work on.

Speaking of UFO's  I bought another kit which will probably become a UFO.
I have really been trying to get a little more color in my quilts and this should just about to do it.
I stopped at Intown Quilters Saturday and this quilt almost blinded me when I walked in the door.
The pattern is "A Piece of Cake" and is really simple looking but the fabric is outrageous.  I love it!

I also signed up for a BOM they are starting in February.
It's all batiks.  Looks like a lot of fun and I love applique'.

Busy Week

I got a couple of the quilts on my "Quilts Waiting to be Quilted" list finished.

Classic Blue & White was one of Little Quilts 2005 Second Saturday Sampler quilts.

The second quilt is from the book Jelly Roll Quilts and is called Pandora's Box.
I won a Mother Goose jelly roll from All Washed up in June 2009 and this is the quilt I made.

I quilted Classic Blue and White  with an all over design and used wool batting.

Pandora's Box also has wool batting and is quilted in a feather design.

I have also been working on my scrappy nine patch and snowball quilt.
I sewed all the blocks together and now I just need to decide what kind of border
I want or even if I want a border.
What do you think?

Plodding Along and A Little Tip!

I have been sewing little nine patch and snowball blocks
for a while and this is what I have accomplished so far.
I have four more rows planned but will wait and see how large the quilt is after sewing the rows together.
Thanks to my friend Judy for contributing lots of colorful scraps.
My scraps always seem so dull compared to hers.
Her quilts are  wonderful.
You should check out her blog Quilting by Judith.

Just a little tip for anyone  as messy as I am.
Are you tired of bending over to pick up
all those threads on the floor?
A "new" toilet bush is a wonderful thing.
Sweeps them right up.

Nine Patch Challenge

A while back I joined the Nine Patch Challenge over on
Karen's blog.    The challenge was to make just one nine patch a day using your stash.
Just one block each day -   any size, any color, using any method.  Simple enough.
By the end of the summer you would have a quilt.

I am trying to make at least two blocks a day using the
Bonnie Hunter leader's and ender's method because my blocks are so small.
I had already cut a lot of 1 1/2" squares out of my scraps and this seemed like a good way to use them.

So far I have made 78 - 3 1/2" blocks.  Unless I want a really small quilt I need to make a lot more.

Later in the summer Karen is going to provide us with simple sashing and setting instructions.
